| How
do YOU
explain
operaFLiX?
Yes, some things in life are hard to explain and operaFLiX is one
of them. So we asked some of our favorite stereotypes to help us out,
and here's what they said:
Joe
Hollywood:
"Imagine if
you morphed THE MATRIX with THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, tossed in TOMMY
and mixed with mystery element X."
Indie Film
Gal:
"The visuals are like really artsy, like a music video, and yet
raw and immediate like indie films. I can't believe they do it all on a low
budget."
Theater Buff: "Their shows have exciting, cool
music and amazing Broadway performers! I just wish they'd make a movie
of CARRIE:THE MUSICAL!"
Opera
Singer:
"How dare they call it opera! Only a few of the mezzo sopranos sing
properly, the rest of them sound like pop stars!"
Which brings us to the next question:
Why
the OPERA
in
operaFLiX?
Let's go straight to the source - operaFLiX's composer:
Jay
Alan Zimmerman: "The word OPERA is in operaFLiX
because the music is structured similarily to an opera even though it sounds
more like RENT than Puccini. The stories are also grand themes, like opera
. . . but surreal and Twilight Zone-ish."
If that doesn't make sense, complain to
